Ortega was the silent henchman from the movie featured in experiment #812, The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies.

Ortega (played by Paul Chaplin) also appeared in the episode's host segments. Ortega later made brief cameos in Agent for H.A.R.M. as a character witness in Mike's trial, Overdrawn at the Memory Bank, in which he was seen answering the phone at the Public Pearl TV pledge drive, and in The Pumaman, when he and his cousin Staci arrived for Brain Guy's get-together. He is an apparent fan of Sliders.

The striking similarities between Ortega and Torgo were the subject of much fan discussion when Incredibly Strange Creatures first aired.
