I think we can keep RiffTrax features in the same categories, we just need to do what you did there which is specify where it's available only as a VOD title or only just as an audio riff file.
I liked how you got the title for the actual film. I just figured that since some of these movies don't have opening titles/credits, it might be easier to simply post larger versions of all the RiffTrax versions of the movie posters. I'm thinking of copying more from that site as well as posting more material from the RiffTrax wikia so that all of these redlinks will go away finally.
I also need to help with the Cinematic Titanic titles as well.
I didn't realize that there was a separate Wiki about RiffTrax. Interesting.
Getting a screen grab of the film's title card isn't difficult. If you're using a PC, just roll play the video on any standard player, and pause when the title screen comes up. Then, press the the "PrtScn" button the keyboard (typically located above the "/" key in the upper right corner of the keyboard). This will create an image file of whatever is on your screen. Then, open MS Paint and paste the image into it. You can then crop out what you don't want, and save it as a .jpg file.
I don't know the process for Mac users, but I'm sure it's similar and can be found online.
No, not an issue at all especially with Mac (Shift + Command + 4) or screengrabs period, just saying that there's not always a title card displayed in some of these movies so it might be easier to simply post the RiffTrax poster.
Yeah, I asked the RiffTrax wikia guys if they would be interested in helping here but alas they said they were content but would be fine with us borrowing and reposting their info. on this here wikia.
They also get a little out there by covering virtually all of the iRiffs and other non-MST3k riffing people and the Cinematic Titanic guys only have a few edits and theyr'e the same exact contributions seen here on this wikia.
Sure, I still got a few other MST3k episodes to finish rewatching so I'll get to him eventually. I got so many other actors and filmmakers pics but just need to make the time to create the actual pages.
I want to bring to your attention that I will be using the MST3K:Community Portal as a place to discuss changes / goals for the wiki. Please feel free to comment there or raise any issues you may feel are important to the wiki as a whole.
Thanks for your contributions and let's all try to make this a better and more useful resource! Darth Prefect (talk) 05:49, January 24, 2015 (UTC)
I have added scrfi host segments caps (to start, I am going back-wartds!) But I need to know how to set the screen to the make them all the normal ratio, as whoever did them back in the day were just throwing them up.
Also, I think we need to change the background, with the new show coming we need to not look like geocities. :P
EDIT: Are you getting these posts? What's your thoughts? And why did you have to change that spelling on Devil Doll, I thought I had fixed shot to shoots. Am I just having isseuss on Firefox?
Well what do you think about adding some information about him from the 50's to the Mad Monster page? If you have the Ed Wood Biography, it's page 123. John Andrews talking about Zucco crawling to Ed Wood for work of all people, it's like carrying Carrot Top's prop trunk. :/
No he didn't he went to Wood in the 50's broke as hell looking for work. Which is hilarious knowing Wood. Probably saw Wood getting Bela work and thought it was the Universal horror retirement club. So the only mention would be that, so I doubt it's worth showing it anywhere.
Going to jump into this conversation since I saw it. I think it's fine for any actor who appeared in material (short, feature, serial, etc.) used on the show to have a page, but I agree that more attention (and higher priority) should be paid to actors who appeared in multiple episodes first. I don't believe we should have pages for actors who were only riffed in Rifftrax, Cinematic Titanic, etc., unless they are significant enough in pop culture to have been mentioned, portrayed, parodied, etc. on the show. I have a degree in the humanities, and my area of study benifited from being able to mentally compartmentalize information and do research effectively. Since then, that's translated to remembering the names of obscure movie actors. I wish it was something more practical.
My wife shows me how to change the rolls in the shampooper..."what do you think about that?"
And seriously I just went from high school to computer.
Though I always had to explain the references to alot of people I knew. I got a GED and just went into washing dishes and had to explain the jokes. Then went into a computer instruction profession that now has no use but to boot up DOS and play Wing Commander.
I kinda know the guy. (He leaves the worlds longest phone messges, I clocked one at 6 mintunes, beating my mother at 5, 8 secs). But he really is a super guy, anything I can add? Me being an Ed Woodaholic?
He signed the Mike Nelson DVD and a Photo of him and Ed, and another of him and Logosi. He's kinda hard to get a hold of nowadays. If I find the other one you can have it, it's signed to my wife though lol.
I'll have that mp3 up, just so lazy because our bluray player dide and I said "that's it" with junk players and I moved a laptop out into the living room with the bluray external. Sick of players not wanting to run anything I have because I encode my own stuff and wants to be big brother. Not everyone who rips their own files is a pirate, but try telling that to these manufacterers.
Here's the link, have mercy, I (Pedge) and the rest of the crew were rough around the edges according to mst3kinfo.com but they complimented us for knowing our stuff. Kevin knew ahead of time it was more a casual show. We did casual talk before everyone and their mom started doing podcasts.
