- Charro! was a 1969 western movie starring Elvis Presley that the writers and producers of MST3K wanted to feature in an episode but were unable to secure the rights to the film.
The movie was notable in that except for the opening song there was no singing at all in the film, and did not show Elvis performing on screen at all.
During a panel discussion featuring Bill Corbett, Trace Beaulieu, and Frank Conniff the movie was mentioned as one they wished they could have done. Believing that they had the rights to the film or were about to get them, the writers did watch the film and prepared some lines, including the one quibble where Crow T. Robot remarks: "Do I smell Elvis?"
