Kim Cattrall (born 1956) is a British-Canadian actress best-known for her role as Samantha on the HBO television series Sex and the City (and the subsequent films). She also appeared in many movies including Porky's, Police Academy, and Mannequin.

During Episode #403 - City Limits, Crow T. Robot became enamored of Cattrall, penning and performing the song "Oh, Kim Cattrall" in her honor (though he would later express a similar attraction to Estelle Winwood, and Mrs. Hargrove from Episode #905).

When Dr. Laurence Erhardt made a surprise visit to Moon 13 during Episode #1204 - The Day Time Ended, he identified Kim Cattrall as being Kinga Forrester's mother. Dr. Erhardt also claimed that Kinga's father had tried to persuade Cattrall to give up show business and join him in mad science, but Kim could not be convinced.

Behind-the-scenes[]

Kim Cattrall is a real-life professional actress, one of the few real world individuals to be portrayed as part of the Mystery Science Theater 3000 mythos.

When Kim Cattrall appeared at ConventioCon ExpoFest-A-Rama 2: Electric Boogaloo in 1996, she shared this story:

I was in my hotel room and was channel surfing. And what do I hear but my own name being sung by a small golden man. And it just went on like that. I yelled for my boyfriend to come in and see this. We were just in shock. A few minutes later, one of my lesser accomplishments came on: City Limits. I called my publicity agent and asked him if Mystery Science Theater 3000 was a real show. He said yes. I called my florist and had an odd request: to send a bouquet of flowers to a Crow T. Robot.[1]

Trace Beaulieu recalled in 2015:

She sent flowers to Crow, and also put her phone number on the card, and Frank Conniff and Bridget Nelson came running into the makeup room -- I was getting made up as Forrester -- and they said, "Kim Cattrall sent Crow flowers!" And I went, "Ah, it's probably a joke." And they said, "No, look, there's a phone number, you should call it." So I called, and it was actually Kim Cattrall! We subsequently became quite good friends, and whenever I would stay out in Los Angeles, and she was out of town, she'd give me the key to her house, and I'd stay at her house.[2]

In 1996, Cattrall appeared as a special guest at ConventioCon ExpoFest-A-Rama 2: Electric Boogaloo. She also introduced one performance of The Mads Are Back live show in 2018.

Cattrall's in-universe status as the (supposed) mother of Kinga Forrester is likely a reference to Crow's attraction to the actress, as both Crow and Dr. Clayton Forrester were portrayed by Trace Beaulieu.
