Sir John Vincent Hurt, CBE (born on January 22, 1940 in Shirebrook, Derbyshire, England, UK and died on the 25th of January, 2017 in Cromer, Norfolk, England UK) is a film, television and stage actor best known for his notable roles in films such as A Man for All Seasons (with Robert Shaw), Midnight Express (with Bo Hopkins) and The Elephant Man (with Anthony Hopkins); for the latter two movies he received Academy Award nominations. He also continued to act onstage. In 2012, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts honored Hurt with a lifetime achievement award.

Both him and Sean Bean are also noted for often dying on-screen the most number of times out of any actor, dead or living.
