Ernest Borgnine (born January 24, 1917, Hamden, CT, USA; passed away July 8, 2012 in Los Angeles, CA, USA) is a late, great Oscar and Emmy-winning actor best known for his wacky, off-color persona and roles in shows such as "McHale's Navy", "Airwolf" and "Spongebob Squarepants". He played the title role in the 1955 Academy Award winning film Marty, and starred in violent Westerns such as controversial filmmaker Sam Peckinpah's The Wild Bunch.

Borgnine appeared in Experiment #1003 Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonders. He was also jokingly mentioned by the SOL crew earlier in Experiment #'s 320 The Unearthly and 813 Jack Frost. He co-starred in the film Laser Mission, which was later riffed on by Rifftrax.

Borgnine reportedly took great joy in his work and was reluctant to retire. He passed away on July 8, 2012 at the age of 95.
