Earl Torgeson (played by Paul Chaplin) is a butcher from Sanford, Maine who specializes in hand-made Old World sausages.
Earl is the estranged half-brother of Eunice Torgeson, who had been a good friend of the late Gladys Fletcher, who was the great-aunt of drummer Kyle Woodring of the band Survivor, which performed the rock anthem "Eye of the Tiger" that served as the theme for the film Rocky III (though Woodring wasn't yet a member at the time it was first recorded), the sequel of which Crow regards as having delved deepest in U.S./Soviet relations during the Cold War, thus somehow making Earl qualified to expound on the Russian folklore present in the movie Jack Frost.
His dissertation consisted of taking a phone order from a customer. Mike and Tom were not amused and violently expressed their dissatisfaction with Crow.
